On the first level, where there are 6 breakable blocks in a row and then a vertical line of coins, jump on the ?box underneath them and break the fourth box from the left and an extra life will appear, but hurry it will fall down the gap!!!

ok this takes a while so lsiten up. 1. go to world 3-1. 2. go left at the start of the level until you are almost under the ledge. 3. jump to find a secret box. 4. when on the top, press a,a,a,b in quick succession. 5. keep going through the game until you get to the first lion. 6. break the first brick then quickly kill the lion by stomping on it (not using fireballs) 7. press a,a,a,b as soon as you have killed it. 8. go down the next tunnel without dying and you should (if followed all instructions above) be a mushroom in the tunnel. Note: if you lose a life you will turn back into mario.
