Make sure both controllers are plugged in. Press start on Controller # 1. Then on Controller # 2, Press Up and A simultaneously. If done correctly it will take you to a menu where you can either save or continue. Warning: This does not save your location just your level (Magic, Attack, Life). If you start the game again, you will have to start at the palace containing Princess Zelda)

When you learn the magic spell fairy, use it near a locked place and just walk through it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Save cheat doesn't save everything

The save cheat with the two controllers does work, but it doesn't save extra lives. If you have maxed out and are acquiring extra lives, this save cheat will save everything [B]EXCEPT[/B] your extra lives. You will start back with only three.
